Jobe Bellingham has given his approval to join Borussia Dortmund, according to journalist Patrick Berger of Sky Sport Germany.
The 19-year-old has attracted interest from top clubs across Europe following a solid season with Sunderland in the Championship.
Bellingham played a key role in Sunderland’s promotion to the Premier League, their first top-flight return since the 2016–17 season.
His strong displays earned him the award for the Championship’s best young player of the season, further raising his profile.
Dortmund are expected to begin formal talks with Sunderland to reach an agreement. The deal is likely to be worth around €30 million if both clubs can finalise terms in the coming weeks.
Bellingham’s move to Germany would follow the path of his older brother Jude, who captained Dortmund before his transfer to Real Madrid.
Bellingham operates as a box-to-box midfielder, offering a mix of energy, technical skill and a smart sense of positioning.
He is confident on the ball, able to make quick decisions under pressure, and often drives the team forward with strong runs.
His ability to link defence with attack has made him a vital part of Sunderland’s midfield set-up during their promotion campaign.
His work rate and willingness to cover ground have made him one of the most exciting young midfielders in England.
If the move to Dortmund goes through, it would offer him a new challenge in a competitive league that values young talent.
Dortmund will continue talks with Sunderland in the next few days as they look to finalise the deal.
