Former Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy wants a move to Celtic after leaving the Premier League, according to the Scottish Sun.
Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has been crying out for another number 9, and the 38-year-old Englishman is keen to reunite with him at the Parkhead club this summer.
However, the Hoops will face competition from the likes of West Ham United, Brentford and Wrexham for the services of Vardy.
Celtic have Adam Idah in their ranks, but the addition of the veteran number 9 to their attack would be huge.
An opportunity to play European football with the Bhoys and also win domestic silverware would appeal to Vardy, and a move could be on the cards.
He made 35 Premier League appearances last term, weighing in with nine goals and four assists, and he could be a hit with Celtic in the Scottish Premiership.
Vardy bagged 18 goals in 35 Championship games to help Leicester secure promotion at the end of the 2023-24 campaign, and he has experience and quality to offer the Hoops.
Celtic will be playing in the league phase of the Champions League if they beat Kazakhstan Premier League club FC Kairat in the play-off, and Vardy would be keeping tabs on the situation.
Playing in the elite European competition as he nears retirement will appeal to the maverick striker, and fans will be over the moon to have such a player at the Parkhead club.
He brings almost 20 years of football to the table, and Idah and co could learn a thing or two from the former England international and the 2015-16 Premier League winner.
Pipping English clubs to his services would be huge for the Hoops, and having such a player could see them upset some of the big boys in the Champions League this term.
