Jadon Sancho races toward United exit as transfer efforts rapidly intensify

Manchester United appear to be on the road to finally offloading Jadon Sancho this summer as the latest updates suggest a rapid advancement in transfer progress. Having been sent out on loan by former Man United manager Erik ten Hag following the pair’s fallout, it appears that current boss Ruben Amorim has no place for the winger in his plans for the club.

While he was sent to Chelsea last season on a loan with an obligation to buy, the London club decided against keeping the English winger, willingly paying a £5 million penalty fee so as not to sign him on a permanent basis.

Since then, United seem to have been in a race to find a potential suitor for the player as they look to raise funds to fulfil their summer transfer plans.

Finding a match

Several clubs have been linked with Sancho in recent times, including Borussia Dortmund, where the player has had two tenures. Undoubtedly, the stronger links have come from Juventus, with transfer talks reportedly intensifying in recent days.

Two days ago, The Peoples Person acknowledged that Sancho reportedly reached a “full agreement” with the Italian club. It was claimed that he will sign a four-year deal worth €6m-a-year plus bonuses, with the Serie A club preparing to pay United €25 million, including add-ons.

However, one area of concern for Juventus has been Sancho’s pay rate. Now, with the winger reportedly willing to undertake a pay cut to force a move to Juventus, it appears that the time of the player’s departure from United has been confirmed.

Time of Sancho’s transfer

This morning, La Gazetta dello Sport reported when Sancho’s transfer to Juventus is expected to get over the line.

“As has been rumoured for days, the attacking winger on Manchester United’s payroll is preparing the transfer himself, accepting a significant reduction in his salary and pushing his agents to reduce the Red Devils’ asking prices so as to make him even more palatable for Juventus’ finances,” the article explained.

“In short, in the next few hours, general manager Damien Comolli will decide whether to pursue Sancho’s hopeful advances and bring the 2000-born player to Turin, or to keep him on hold to shore up other, more deficient areas or approach less expensive candidates,” the report claimed.

“Salary-wise, Jadon would undoubtedly be among the highest paid in the squad,” the article added, suggesting that even with a pay cut, Sancho will be a notable financial burden on the Serie A giants.

Ultimately, it appears that United are suddenly racing ahead with their transfer plans.

With Marcus Rashford on his way to Barcelona and Bryan Mbeumo on his way to Old Trafford, the club seems to be on the path to achieving the squad revamp it desperately needs ahead of next season.
