In a recent post on X, respected journalist Florian Plettenberg claimed that Manchester United are showing interest in Chelsea forward Nicolas Jackson this summer. It has been mentioned that the Red Devils are eager to get a deal done for the Senegalese striker this off-season.
Jackson managed to shine at times at the West London club in the previous campaign but struggled to be consistent for them in the final third. The 24-year-old banged in 13 goals and earned six assists in 37 matches for Chelsea last season across all fronts.
The Senegalese talent has proven his worth in the opponent’s half by averaging 3.08 shots per 90 minutes in Premier League football. He kept 44.7% of his attempts on target. Jackson was even careful when distributing possession in the final third based on his pass success rate of 75.9% in the top tier of English football (stats via fbref.com).
His current contract at the West London club will run out in the summer of 2033 which could make it tough for Man United to sign him on the cheap in this transfer period.

Jackson is proficient at finding a yard of space for himself to get a few strikes in at goal. He has got the vision to engineer some inviting chances for his teammates in the final third and is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet.
The Senegalese talent can be a decent goal-scorer in front of the opponent’s goal when he is playing regularly and with confidence on the field. He has already got some valuable experience in the Premier League and won’t take much time to adjust to life at Man United.
We can expect Jackson to bring more firepower to Ruben Amorim’s attack. He has what it takes to help the Red Devils compete for a European spot in the Premier League next season.
At 24, the best is yet to come from Jackson. Therefore, Amorim should focus on getting a deal over the line for the Senegalese attacker in this transfer window. However, Jackson is far from a prolific forward, so Man United would have to be patient with him before they can unlock the best out of the player.
