As Liverpool get into the full swing of their hectic schedule, injuries will become more likely and the full squad will need to be utilised, but what do fans think of rotating players in the team?

Following Harvey Elliott's injury which is set to keep him out until November and Alexis Mac Allister's fitness doubts on the back of the international break, Curtis Jones may be awarded his first start of the season on Saturday against Nottingham Forest.

Since featuring in all four of Liverpool's pre-season matches and making the bench for the Reds' Premier League opener against Ipswich Town, the 23-year-old has been out on the sidelines with a muscle injury.

But after training hard, Jones is now available for selection and could be required straight away when Nottingham Forest visit Anfield, especially with some players being rotated for the club's Champions League opener away to AC Milan on Tuesday.

Even with Ryan Gravenberch and Dominik Szoboszlai in fine form and coming back from the international break in full fitness, there is still a spot in the midfield up for grabs if Mac Allister is unavailable.

Fans' verdict on Curtis Jones

We asked Liverpool fans on our X account whether they would give Jones his first start of the season on Saturday. These were the responses we received...

Priyadarshini Mohanty (@IamPriya2k): "He's a dynamic midfielder who can add creativity and drive to the team."

Surya Sarathi Ghosh (@gssarathi_): "Surely a good bench option... but I wouldn't be too overtly worried if he was starting."

Made 4 Liverpool (@same_old_Fritz): "Yes. Mac Allister missed a few training sessions with Argentina due to a knock and will take a long flight back to the UK on Thursday. Might be smart to rest him ahead of the trip to Milan."

On Hallowed Turf (@mNyKg8DCABoAXxd): "No. He’s not played this season. And who would you drop?"

Kenroque (@Kenroque3): "I wouldn't start Jones against Nottingham Forest this weekend. He did look out of place during the preseason. He's definitely not a first 11 so he can come on a sub"

My Kop View (@MyKopView): "On the bench, first and then it depends on our situation. He has plenty of time to get fully trained and then convince Slot to slot him in."

dave o'brien (@anondob): "Has to be an unchanged team barring injuries."

SOMTO... (@iambusiness96): "I would rather start with just 10 men."

Benjamin Yaw (@BenjaminYaw2): "Let's go for Szobo, Jones, Endo starting 11."

Rayzor Mingus (@CharlesMingus89): "HELL NO! We don't miss him! He can stay on the bench where he belongs!"
