Inter Milan Vice-President Speaks To Prosecutors As Part Of Investigation Into Ultras Scandal | OneFootball

Inter Milan Vice-President has been questioned by prosecutors as part of an investigation into Neerazzurri ultras group the Curva Nord.

This according to Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews. They report that today is the day for the Vice-President to testify in the investigation after Inter coach Simone Inzaghi yesterday.

This month, anti-mafia prosecutors have begun an investigation into Inter and AC Milan’s ultras groups.

The authorities have already made nineteen arrests. These were of high-profile leading members of Inter ultras group the Curva Nord and their Milan counterparts the Curva Nord.

The arrests are for alleged illegal activities surrounding Nerazzurri and Rossoneri matchdays.

Prosecutors also allege ties between high-ranking members of the Nord and the Sud and mafia organizations.

Inter Milan Vice-President Javier Zanetti Questioned In Ultras Investigation

Prosecutors have been questioning a number of major figures at Inter and Milan as part of their investigation.

Yesterday, investigators spoke to Inter coach Simone Inzaghi.

Reportedly, the Nerazzurri coach admitted to requesting extra tickets to the 2023 Champions League final, in which Inter faced Manchester City, on behalf of the ultras after a phone conversation.

Today, Inter Vice-President Zanetti speaks to investigators, reports the Gazzetta.

The Vice-President is another major figure at Inter who has had interactions with the ultras.

Investigators are looking to determine the scale of how Inter and Milan facilitated alleged criminal activities by their ultras.

There is no active criminal case into either the Nerazzurri or the Rossoneri.

However, prosecutors are still looking to determine how negligence or inaction on the clubs’ part may have played a part in any illegal activities.

Moreover, investigators are looking into how ultras with the Nord and the Sud may have used pressure to gain favours from the clubs.

The two clubs could still receive punishment. Reports indicate that fines are a real possibility, although sporting sanctions are very unlikely.
