AC Milan Could Move For Ex Inter Milan Midfielder From Chelsea | OneFootball

AC Milan could move to sign former Inter Milan midfielder Cesare Casadei from Chelsea.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews. They name the 21-year-old as a possible midfield reinforcement as the Rossoneri look to weather an injury crisis.

Milan are currently on the lookout for a midfield signing.

This follows an injury to Ismael Bennacer which will see the Algerian former Empoli and Arsenal man miss a big chunk of the season.

Therefore, Milan are looking to sign a midfielder in the January transfer window.

The Rossoneri want to ensure adequate depth for coach Paulo Fonseca.

And there are a few possibilities that they are considering going after.

One would be a move for Genoa midfielder Morten Frendrup.

Frendrup has impressed with his performances for the Grifone since their promotion back to Serie A. He would certainly fit the profile that the Rossoneri are after.

Then, there would be Johnny Cardoso. The 24-year-old is currently at Real Betis, but had been a target for Milan over the summer prior to their move for Youssouf Fofana.

Another possibility, reports the Gazzetta, would be for Milan to once again sign a player from Chelsea.

Last summer, the Rossoneri brought in a couple of players from Stamford Bridge. Both Christian Pulisic and Ruben Loftus-Cheek arrived at the San Siro.

Meanwhile, defender Fiyako Tomori is another player who Milan have signed from Chelsea recently.

According to the Gazzetta, the Rossoneri are considering Chelsea midfielder Carney Chukwuemeka as a target.

But then there would be another name on Milan’s list.

The Gazzetta report that the Rossoneri are also considering a move for midfielder Casadei.

Casadei joined Chelsea from Inter’s academy in the summer of 2022. He had yet to make an appearance for the Nerazzurri’s senior team.

But Casadei could very well have a future in Serie A – with Inter’s city rivals Milan.

Recently, Casadei admitted that despite the fact that he came through the Inter youth ranks, he was actually a Rossoneri supporter growing up.
