Former defender Lucio feels that Juventus away will “always be tough” for Inter Milan but that the absence of Bremer could be a big factor.
The 2010 Treble winner gave his thoughts on tomorrow’s Serie A Derby d’Italia in today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.
Inter Milan take on Juventus in Serie A tomorrow evening.
And it will be a massive match for the Nerazzurri.
Derby d’Italia clashes with Juventus always have a particular flavour. The pressure is higher against bitter rivals, and it is an unpredictable fixture.
Moreover, Inter will feel that they cannot slip up in a title race that sees them virtually neck-and-neck with Napoli.
Former defender Lucio won the Treble with Inter Milan during the 2000-10 season. He also had a brief spell with Juventus, although was unable to find his best form there and played little.
The Brazilian noted that “I didn’t play much at the Juve Stadium.”

“But I know that it’s always a tough away stadium for teams that play there.”
“Even moreso here, because the Bianconeri always find that extra motivation against Inter,” Lucio added.
Meanwhile, Lucio noted that “Thiago Motta’s team are definitely suffering from the absence of an absolute colossus in Bremer.”
“And I’m not just saying that because he’s also Brazilian…”
“There are few defenders who know how to protect the entire team like him,” said Lucio of former Torino defender Bremer.
Meanwhile, Lucio commented that “Overall Inter have shown that they’re the stronger team and have more weapons.”
“And then in defense, they have greater certainty. Inzaghi’s centre-backs not only know how to man-mark, but they’re also key to the buildup play.”
