Inter Milan are ready to make an offer for Man United striker Joshua Zirkzee after the Champions League final.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews. They report that the Nerazzurri area ready to offer a deal worth €35 million for the Dutchman.

There is no doubt that Inter Milan will reinforce their attack during the summer transfer window.

With the likes of Marko Arnautovic and Joaquin Correa set to depart, Inter will need to sign at least one striker.

The priority for the Nerazzurri is to sign a player who will be more than just a backup to Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram. They want a striker capable of fighting for a starting berth.

And furthermore, Inter are aiming to skew younger with a big new attacking signing.

Inter are keen to lower the high average age of their squad this summer.

Therefore, there looks to be one name that has risen to the top of the Nerazzurri’s shortlist of targets.

Striker Joshua Zirkzee has not enjoyed the best of debut campaigns at Manchester United after his big money move last summer.

The Red Devils paid a fee of around €40 million to sign the former Bayern Munich striker from Bologna last summer.

United paid that fee off the back of an outstanding campaign from Zirkzee at Bologna. However, it would be fair to say he has not reproduced that same kind of form at Old Trafford.

Nevertheless, Zirkzee is still held in very high regard in Serie A considering his form in Emilia-Romagna.

The Corriere dello Sport report that Inter Milan still fully believe that the Dutchman can get back to his best with a move back to Serie A.

Therefore, the newspaper anticipates, the Nerazzurri are willing to invest big in a deal.

Inter would not quite offer the same fee that United paid for Joshua Zirkzee. But they wouldn’t be far off of it.

The Corriere report that Inter would offer a loan deal containing a purchase option. However, this would become an obligation under certain conditions such as appearances and goals.

The fee that Inter would offer as part of this package would be €35 million plus add-ons.

Meanwhile, the Corriere report, Inter are ready to offer Zirkzee a four-year deal.

The Nerazzurri will offer the 23-year-old initial wages of €3.5 million – but rising over the course of his contract, and containing substantial add-ons.
