Inter-linked defender Atalanta Giorgio Scalvini admits that amid speculation on his future, he doesn’t know where he’ll be playing in the next few years.

Speaking to Milan-based newspaper Corriere della Sera in an interview published in today’s print edition, via FCInterNews, the 19-year-old made clear that his only priority right now is doing his best for his current club, but that beyond that he isn’t sure.

Scalvini has emerged as a top target for a number of different clubs, with Inter having stepped up as one of his main suitors.

The 19-year-old is being looked at by both clubs in Serie A and ones abroad, and is likely to fetch a significant transfer fee in the summer.

It is this latter fact which would make a move for Scalvini difficult for Inter in particular, but recent reports have nevertheless suggested that the Nerazzurri remain keen on making him the replacement for Milan Skriniar.

Asked where he imagines he’ll be in 2023 on a professional level, Scalvini replied that “I honestly don’t know, I just know that I have to do my best for Atalanta, right now that’s my only priority.”

In response to the question of whether he’d rather be at a Premier League club in 2028, or captain of La Dea, Scalvini replied that “I would be very happy with either, but I don’t really know exactly what my future holds.”

“All I know is that if I work hard now I can build that future, and so my focus remains here in 2023,” the young defender added.
