Inter Milan defender Alessandro Bastoni feels that his teammate Yann Bisseck has to “keep calm” after his error against Genoa.

The 25-year-old gave his thoughts in a press conference after the 2-2 draw, as reported by FCInterNews.

Inter defender Bisseck got the start in his team’s first match of the Serie A season.

The German got the nod ahead of Benjamin Pavard on the right of the Nerazzurri back three from the start.

And it was an impressive performance from Bisseck in many respect.

Particularly in attack, the 23-year-old had a significant impact on the match.

But Bisseck was also the player whose error proved decisive in stoppage time.

It was the German who unnecessarily handled the ball in his own penalty area as the match drew to a close with Inter seemingly on course to see out three points.

After a VAR check, referee Ermanno Feliciani pointed to the spot. And Genoa midfielder Junior Messias was able to turn in the rebound after Yann Sommer had saved his initial effort.

Alessandro Bastoni Urges Yann Bisseck: “Keep Calm” After Blunder Vs Genoa

Inter defender Bastoni was asked about Bisseck’s error after this evening’s match.

“The important thing is for him to keep calm,” replied the 25-year-old.

“Everyone can make mistakes. So there’s nothing to worried about.”

“It’s a bit weird, because Inter conceded so few goals last season and it always took so much to score against us,” Bastoni commented.

“But we’re just at the start of a 38-game season, so let’s move forward without overreacting.”

As far as the preseason preparations go, Bastoni noted that “Obviously we have to adapt to an increasingly busy fixture list.”

“Twenty days off can’t be considered a real vacation,” the Italian international admitted.

“Mentally, managing having so many matches is tricky. Particularly with a fixture list that never seems to end.”

“But we’re here to play,” Bastoni said. “And we’ll give our best in every match.”

“It’s like there’s never an end with the seasons being so close together, and then the players who are with their national teams have further physical and mental effort,” the defender added.

“So in the first match it can happen that you lose a bit of energy and sharpness. But what matters is that we stay united.”
