Inter Milan defender Yann Bisseck reportedly had to skip training on Thursday due to slight flu.

While a host of Nerazzurri stars are currently on international duty, the German is one of the few who remained at Appiano Gentile during the break.

However, the 23-year-old wasn’t at Simone Inzaghi’s disposal in today’s training session.

According to Sky Sprot Italia via FcInterNews, Bisseck missed the session due to flu.

Nevertheless, the source expects him to resume training as usual sooner rather than later. He should thus rejoin his teammates in the coming days.

The former Aarhus centre-back will be hoping to earn a starting berth against Monza in the following weekend.

The Germany U21 international was a starter on the opening day of the season against Genoa.

His outing at the Luigi Ferraris began on a positive note. However, he ended up giving away a late spot-kick. This culminated in the Grifone’s equalizer, thus costing his side two valuable points.

Since then, Benjamin Pavard has regained his usual starting berth on the right side of the defensive trio, leaving Bisseck on the bench.

But as we reported earlier in the day, Inzaghi could decide to ring the changes when the team travels to Monza for their first outing after the international break.

Bisseck is among several Inter stars who are eager to seize the opportunity and earn some playing time before the back-to-back clashes against Manchester City and AC Milan.

The likes of Davide Frattesi, Mehdi Taremi and Piotr Zielinski also find themselves in a similar situation.
