Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi could use Yann Bisseck on the left of the defense rather than making a new signing for the role.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews. They report that the German is likely to get a chance in the position in a friendly match.

Inter have found themselves in a bit of a bind in defense.

This is the indirect result of a long-term injury to Tajon Buchanan. The Canadian has suffered a serious leg-break, which will sideline him for the first few months of next season.

With Buchanan out, Carlos Augusto will have to play the majority of his minutes at wingback.

Last season, Augusto had frequently covered for Alessandro Bastoni on the left of the back three.

But with Augusto tied up at wingback, the options on the left of the defense will be limited.

Inter Could Make Bisseck “Internal” Solution To Left Side Of Defense

Inter had been close to signing Juan Cabal from Juventus as a backup for Bastoni. But Juventus beat them to the punch.

That has left the Nerazzurri scrambling to sign a left-sided defender.

The likes of Zenit St. Petersburg’s Robert Renan and Arsenal’s Jakub Kiwior are reportedly among the Nerazzurri’s targets.

Links have also emerged to Dinamo Zagreb defender Mauro Perkovic and Valencia’s Yarek Gasiorowski.

But it’s possible that Inter won’t need to make a signing at all.

This would be because the Nerazzurri may already have a player who can plug the gap in their squad.

23-year-old defender Yann Bisseck has been at Inter for the last twelve months.

Last season, the German broke into the Nerazzurri lineup, both as a starter and a substitute.

Bisseck played exclusively on the right side of the back three.

And it looks clear that Bisseck will have an important role as a backup to Benjamin Pavard next season.

However, despite being right-footed, Bisseck is not only capable of playing on the right of the backline.

At Danish club Aarhus, the German mainly featured on the left.

Inzaghi could try transitioning Bisseck to that side of the pitch.

If the 23-year-old proves capable of filling in there, then Inter may not need to make a signing after all.
