With now less than four weeks to go until the summer 2025 window closes, the only Newcastle United senior signings have been Anthony Elanga and Aaron Ramsdale.

On the other hand, Newcastle United haven’t lost any of their first eleven, with only squad players Sean Longstaff and Callum Wilson moving on.

The big question though surrounds Alexander Isak.

The man from The Athletic says that normally in these situations, the player will end up leaving. However, at the same time, George Caulkin says he wouldn’t wager any money on Alexander Isak leaving this summer…

George Caulkin talking about Newcastle United and Alexander Isak on The Sports Agents podcast:

“Newcastle United have been operating, or trying to operate, in the same market as the established, I guess you’d say big six clubs, in terms of who they’re trying to buy, and have not been able to do that successfully.

“It’s a story of Newcastle the team just pulling way ahead of Newcastle the club.

“I mean, they obviously spent a year or more on James Trafford, and if they’d paid what Burnley were asking for, then it would have happened, and they didn’t. Whether that would have been good value or not is, of course, a very different question.

“I mean, if they could get another year out of Alexander Isak, I think they would be doing very, very well at this point, having allowed matters to get to get here.

“But again, you know, usually when you’re in this position, things move in one direction, and that is in the player leaving.

“But again, I wouldn’t put money on it.

“Liverpool was suggesting at the end of last week they wouldn’t come back. I don’t think anybody at Newcastle took that at face value.

“And of course, the other point is what Alexander Isak does at this point, when he does have discussions with Eddie Howe; whether he does try and make life difficult.”
