Portuguese giants Benfica aren’t the only club interested in Chelsea attacker Joao Felix according to journalist Matt Law.

Chelsea have already made three signings this summer in Liam Delap, Jamie Gittens and Joao Pedro, with more new faces expected to follow.

The Blues haven’t ruled out signing another forward, whilst they are also said to be in the market for a left sided defender to provide cover for Marc Cucurella.

Benfica not the only club interested in Joao Felix

Whilst incomings are important, Chelsea also have a number of players they are looking to move on in order to balance the books.

Felix falls into that category, and his career at Chelsea is over despite only joining from Atletico Madrid for £45m last summer.

The 25-year-old joined AC Milan on loan in January due to limited game time, but the Italian giants made it clear they weren’t making the move permanent.

Felix wasn’t part of the squad for the Club World Cup, and is currently training with the “bomb squad” at Chelsea’s Cobham training base.

There is interest in the Portuguese from clubs in Saudi Arabia, although Felix has made it clear his preference is a return to Benfica.

Benfica are thought to have made an offer for Felix, and Law has provided an interesting update on the situation.

“I am told the interest for João Félix extends outside Benfica,” he told The London Is Blue Podcast.

“He clearly quite fancies a return to Benfica. The one thing I am told is he’s on less at Chelsea than people think he’s on, and that does keep a market open for him.”

Christopher Nkunku could stay

It’s expected Nkunku will follow Felix out the Stamford Bridge exit door, and the 27-year-old has interest from Bayern Munich and Manchester United.

However, after featuring regularly at the Club World Cup, it’s been reported Chelsea aren’t in a rush to get rid of the France international, and there’s a chance he could stay.

United have reportedly been quoted £35m to sign Nkunku, and it will be interesting to see what happens with the Frenchman this summer.
