Real Madrid are all set to close one of the biggest signings imminently with Kylian Mbappe expected to join as a free agent in the summer.

The Frenchman has already announced his departure from PSG and even though it is still not official, everything indicates that Mbappe will be headed to the Santiago Bernabeu.

The 25-year-old superstar’s arrival will further strengthen a Real Madrid team that has already won the La Liga title and made it to the Champions League final.

It poses a great danger to their rivals, especially Barcelona, but Robert Lewandowski claims that the Catalans are not afraid of Mbappe joining the Merengues.

“Mbappe does not scare us,” said Lewandowski, in an interview with MARCA.

Further elaborating on the topic, he added: “It’s not official yet but it seems that all roads lead to Real Madrid. Afraid? No, of course he is an incredible player and if he goes to Real Madrid, it will be a very strong team.

“But our mentality must be that no matter how good players they have, if we are a team and work together, we can beat them.”

Furthermore, Lewandowski insisted that Real Madrid could start off slow next season due to their new additions and that Barcelona must work on capitalising on it.

“We have to be ready from the first game and the first minutes because Real Madrid will probably need time, they won’t play well at the beginning and they will lose points, and we have to take advantage of that,” he said.

“Not to catch them but to be ahead of them. Like two seasons ago, when there were games we couldn’t win but we didn’t lose.”
