The Scottish Championship side has had the defender involved since the beginning of pre-season, with him playing in every friendly match so far. According to The Courier, Davidson is on the brink of finalising a move to the Pars ahead of the upcoming season.
Last season, the ex-Hoops manager and captain stepped in at the Fife side and successfully steered them clear of relegation. Dunfermline ended the Championship campaign in seventh place, prompting Lennon to commit to a new two-year deal.
In preparation for the upcoming season, Lennon has given Davidson a chance to impress during a trial spell. The young centre-back made 10 appearances for Celtic’s B team last campaign, featuring in both the Lowland League and the UEFA Youth League.
With his three-year contract from 2022 coming to an end at the Hoops this summer, the Dunfermline boss decided to see him in action where it now looks as if he has earned himself a deal.

Davidson was involved as a trialist in Dunfermline’s 3-1 friendly win against Kelty Hearts on Saturday. Speaking to the Pars’ social media channels post-match, Neil Lennon was confident he would be able to sign the ex-Celtic youth player.
He said: “We’re hoping to [sign him]yeah. We’re in the discussion with his agents at the minute, so I’m hoping that won’t take too long.”
Celtic B team goalkeeper Tobi Oluwayemi spent last season at Dunfermline on loan. Also, Ewan Otoo, who began his development at Celtic will be a big player for Lennon ahead of the coming season.
Dunfermline are set to take on Hearts this weekend as the Premier Sports Cup group stage kicks off. Whether Davidson will be available in time to play at Tynecastle is still uncertain.
