Yesterday we covered a story of a former Chelsea player saying Chelsea should sign this player during this transfer window, and now today we have another former Chelsea player saying the same thing.

I guess maybe some of these former players might actually know what they are talking about, right? They certainly do in these circumstances at least.

Sources: Nico Williams to Chelsea still on??

Yesterday, Former Blues striker Tony Cascarino said Chelsea should sign England and Brentford striker Ivan Toney this window, and I fully agreed.

Cascarino says that Chelsea are missing that type of physical profile, and he is absolutely spot on.

And now, former Chelsea left back Scott Minto is saying that Chelsea should sign Toney this window and again, I am in full agreement.

Minto would love Chelsea to sign Toney

Toney looks destined to still leave his club this window, and he is literally right there for the taking with just one year left on his current contract at Brentford.

Chelsea should be all over this.

As cited on X, Minto said on talkSPORT this week: “I just think Ivan Toney has got to go. He has got a year left on his contract. They are not going down. The question is where?

“Now, I would love to see him in a Chelsea shirt, personally. I would love to see him in a West Ham shirt. One of those two.”

Toney would have been disappointed in being ignored by Gareth Southgate at the Euros with England this summer. But even still, he managed to make a great impact as a sub and scored a very important ‘no look’ penalty.

He needs to make his big move this window before he gets too old, and he is exactly what Chelsea need up top, a physical true all round number 9 who can do a bit of everything but most importantly is a clear focal point up top.
