Feyenoord submit improved Valente offer to FC Groningen to set ultimatum | OneFootball

Feyenoord have made a new bid for Luciano Valente (21), 1908 reports. The club management of FC Groningen are considering the improved offer from Rotterdam-Zuid.

An initial Feyenoord bid for Valente, worth four million euros plus one million euros in bonuses, was rejected by Groningen.

“Feyenoord has more or less set an ultimatum with the new bid, which means a deal can be concluded quickly – or not”, 1908 reads. The improved bid has a fixed amount of five million euros.

The amount can reportedly increase further via bonuses, although the variables are different to those of the first offer, the outlet suggests. Feyenoord would see Valente as the ‘one-on-one replacement’ for Antoni Milambo.

The young midfielder has allegedly begun agreeing personal terms with Brentford, although those reports are contradicted by Feyenoord.

Valente’s move follows the recommendation of both trainer Robin van Persie and the board. The Rotterdammers already signed Sem Steijn earlier this summer. The top scorer of the Eredivisie signed from FC Twente after bagging 24 goals in 33 games.
