According to Voetbal International, Feyenoord have turned to Bjorn Meijer in their search for a new left-back. The Club Brugge player is considered a viable alternative to Hugo Bueno.
Bueno seemed the ideal successor to Quilindschy Hartman, who left for Burnley. However, the Spaniard seems too expensive, and it seems he may get his chance at Wolverhampton Wanderers, who previously sold Rayan Aït-Nouri to Manchester City.
Nevertheless, Feyenoord will also have to pay a transfer fee for Meijer. The left-back still has a year’s contract in Bruges. Meijer recently played with Jong Oranje at the European Championship in Slovakia.
Feyenoord are said to be hoping for a quick agreement with the Belgians. Meijer started his career at his hometown club Groningen.
