The Athletic’s Liam Twomey has stated he’s more confident Chelsea complete a deal for Alejandro Garnacho than Xavi Simons.
Chelsea have been busy this summer and have made four exciting signings in Liam Delap, Jamie Gittens, Joao Pedro and Jorrel Hato.
The Blues aren’t done there, and are looking to complete deals for both Simons and Garnacho before the transfer window closes.
Chelsea reportedly want eight or nine attacking options to rotate between in their squad next season, as they prepare to return to the Champions League.
The Blues have somewhat revamped their attack with Joao Felix and Noni Madueke both leaving, whilst Christopher Nkunku and Nicolas Jackson are also expected to be sold.
The Blues have identified Simons and Garnacho as players they want to add, but they are yet to make an official offer for either player.

Garnacho has agreed personal terms with Chelsea, and is waiting for the Blues to make an offer to Manchester United.
In regards to Simons, Chelsea are still in negotiations with Leipzig, but it’s thought one of Jackson or Nkunku needs to leave before they can try and close a deal.
Chelsea ideally want to get both deals done but speaking in a Q & A for The Athletic, Twomey has stated he’s more confident on Garnacho happening.
“At this point, I am far more confident Garnacho gets done than Simons.
“United need to raise funds and he wants the move. The situation with Simons is far more murkier, though Chelsea’s interest is genuine.”
Nkunku has been mentioned as possibly being involved in a move for Simons, with the 27-year-old thought to be open to a possible return to Leipzig.
