Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, while speaking to DAZN, has officially dismissed recent rumours linking Rodrygo to FC Barcelona, calling the reports completely fake.
According to Romano, Barcelona have never made a move for the Real Madrid forward, nor have they held any talks with him or the club. Both sides know that such a negotiation is simply impossible.
In recent days, speculation from Brazil suggested that Barcelona had contacted Rodrygo amid the uncertainty surrounding his role at Real Madrid.
These reports claimed that Joan Laporta, the Barcelona president, had used intermediaries to check whether Rodrygo would consider switching to Camp Nou, especially after Barcelona missed out on signing Nico Williams.
Despite Rodrygo’s uncertain position at Madrid, moving to Barcelona is out of the question. Real Madrid would never entertain such a deal, and the player himself has shown no sign of wanting to cross the bitter rivalry line.
Romano made it clear that while Rodrygo’s future may not be fully settled, given Madrid’s stacked attacking lineup, the possibility of joining Barcelona is simply non-existent.

Even if Barcelona tried, they would face multiple barriers. First, Real Madrid have placed a €100 million price tag on the Brazilian forward, making any transfer complicated from a financial standpoint.
Barcelona’s well-known registration issues would also make it nearly impossible to add another high-profile signing to their squad this summer.
The club is already struggling with La Liga’s financial fair play regulations, and bringing in Rodrygo would only add more complications.
After failing to land Nico Williams, Barcelona have been looking for alternatives in the transfer market, and Rodrygo’s name may have popped up in discussions.
However, no serious approach was ever made, and as Romano confirmed, there is no chance of this transfer happening.
