Leganes have officially confirmed the signing of Marvelous Antolin Garzon, known as ‘Marvel’, from Real Madrid on a contract for the next three seasons.
The 22-year-old left-footed central defender secures a permanent move away from the Merengues after spending the last season on loan at Cordoba.
Born in Morocco, Marvel became a part of the Real Madrid youth academy in 2010, but left a year later. After stints at Atletico Madrid, Alcala, and Rayo Vallecano, he returned to La Fabrica in 2016 at the Under-13 level.
During his time at the club, Marvel made 52 appearances for Castilla, scoring one goal, but never made his first-team debut for Real Madrid.
Having impressed on loan at Cordoba last season, where he played 28 times, Marvel now departs on a permanent transfer, hoping to make a name for himself with Leganes, where he has signed a three-year contract until 2028.
Marvel becomes the latest young player to leave Real Madrid following in the footsteps of Yusi, Victor Munoz, and Rafel Obrador. More exits are expected in the coming days.
