Radja Nainggolan feels that AC Milan’s Theo Hernandez would not get into the Inter Milan starting eleven ahead of Federico Dimarco.

Speaking on the Controcalcio Twitch channel, via FCInterNews, the Belgian gave his thoughts on which of the two city rivals’ respective left-wingbacks he would prefer to start.

There are some major similarities between Hernandez and Dimarco.

Both are 26 years of age. And both are key players on the left flank for teams on either side of the Milan derby divide.

With Inter’s Serie A title this season, both have been Italian champions at some stage.

And both Hernandez and Dimarco have played key roles in those league title victories.

Both the Italian and French international have been a source of both assists and goals. And both provide even more than that, as they are often key outlets for their teams with a lot of freedom on the pitch.

Nainggolan: “Theo Hernandez Wouldn’t Star For Inter Ahead Of Dimarco”

Naturally, both of Hernandez and Dimarco would be major candidates for a “team of the season” in Serie A.

Both would be worthy contenders for the title of best left-back or left-wingback in the Italian top flight.

In the view of midfielder Nainggolan – formerly of Inter as well as Roma and Cagliari – it is the Inter player who is the superior of the two, however.

Asked which of Hernandez or Dimarco he would start, Nainggolan said that “Between the two of them, I’d start Dimarco.”

“Because he can make eighty assists, and then score ten goals,” the Belgian exclaimed.

“For a team to win the Scudetto, I would go with Dimarco,” he said.

Dimarco has scored five goals and assisted this season in Serie A.

The Italian international has also popped with some vital goals, such as winners against the likes of Empoli and Frosinone.
