As has been the case for a while now, Inter are juggling domestic and European commitments.

That has not been easy for the Nerazzurri in recent seasons.

Last campaign, Inter won the Serie A title in dominant fashion. However, they crashed out of the Champions League at the round of sixteen against Atletico Madrid.

There was a sense that some of the tiredness from overextending the squad across multiple competition had reached its limit against Atletico.

Meanwhile, the previous season was a highly successful one for Inter in Europe. They reached the final of the Champions League.

However, in Serie A, the Nerazzurri had a campaign that was highly erratic.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan: “Inter Playing To Win Serie A & Champions League”

This season, one of Inter’s biggest challenges has been figuring out how to balance Serie A and the Champions League. Not to mention the Coppa Italia, Supercoppa Italiana, and Club World Cup.

In Europe, things are as tough as ever.

And then in the league, meanwhile, Inter have a fierce title race on their hands. This evening, they face one of their chief rivals for the title in the form of Lazio.

As far as whether the team can regain their momentum against the Biancocelesti, Mkhitaryan said “In my opinion, yes.”

“It’s an important match on our path,” the 35-year-old added.

“We’re prepared for it after Tuesday,” Mkhitaryan said.

During the week, Inter suffered their first Champions League defeat of the season against Bayer Leverkusen.

“We analyzed what happened there, and we’re ready to win tonight,” Mkhitaryan insisted.

The former Arsenal and Roma midfielder noted that “We’re playing on two, three, four fronts.”

“That’s what we want though. We’re playing to win both.”

“I can’t say 100% we’ll win,” Mkhitaryan admitted. “But our goal is to go as far as possible.”

And as far as Inter’s strategy against Lazio this evening, the Armenian emphasized “Playing slowly.”

“Without forcing things.”

“We have to be at our best,” Mkhitaryan stressed. “We have ninety minutes and then some.”

“We have to play the way we know how to,” he added. “Then let’s see if we can win.”
