El Salvador advances to Final Round

MIAMI – El Salvador advanced its World Cup hopes as the Second Round of the Concacaf Qualifiers for the FIFA World Cup 2026 concluded on Tuesday with matches in Groups E and F.
The Road to the 2026 continued for Concacaf nations with the final encounters of the Second Round during the June 2025 match window. The group winners and runners-up will progress to the Third and Final Round.
Group E
Dominican Republic 5, Dominica 0
The Dominican Republic won 5-nil against Dominica in Group E at Estadio Olímpico Félix Sánchez in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
Dorny Romero opened the scoring in the 16’ to place the hosts in front. Peter González supplied the cross into the box for Romero’s fourth goal of the campaign.
Jimmy Kaparos extended the lead in the 33’ from the top of the box.
Noah Dollenmayer added a third in the 39’, striking his own header as González collected his second assist.
Edarlyn Reyes added a fourth for Los Quisqueyanos in the 44’ as González tallied a third assist from a through ball.
Peter González added his name to the scorer’s list in the 89’ with a shot from outside the box to put a bow on the victory.
Jamaica 3, Guatemala 0
Jamaica won 3-nil against Guatemala in Group E at Independence Park in Kingston, Jamaica.
Jon Russell placed Jamaica up in the 26’, striking a header to connect on a cross from Leon Bailey.
Warner Brown doubled the lead in the 37’ by pouncing on a rebound after Bailey was denied a penalty attempt by Nicholas Hagen.
Brown collected his brace in the 73’ off a corner kick service from Demarai Gray.
The Reggae Boyz finish their campaign as first place in the group while Guatemala finishes second in the group.
Group F
Puerto Rico 2, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines 1
Puerto Rico won 2-1 against Saint Vincent and the Grenadines in Group F at Estadio Centroamericano de Mayagüez in Mayagüez, Puerto Rico.
El Huracán Azul took the lead in the 11’ through a strike from Leandro Antonetti.
Puerto Rico goalkeeper Sebastián Cutler upheld the Puerto Rico lead in the 38’ by saving a penalty attempt from Kyle Edwards.
Oalex Anderson equalized for Saint Vincent and the Grenadines in the 47’ with a strike from close range.
Steven Echevarria restored the Puerto Rico lead in the 77’ to secure the victory.
El Salvador 1, Suriname 1
El Salvador and Suriname tied 1-1 in Group F at Estadio Cuscatlán in San Salvador, El Salvador.
Justin Lonwijk placed Suriname in front in the 19’ with a right-footed shot from the middle of the penalty area.
La Selecta equalized in the 32’ as Brayan Gil put the finishing touch on a play orchestrated by Nathan Ordaz and Jairo Henríquez.
Suriname sealed the top spot in the group with a draw while El Salvador secured its place in the Final Round.
