Brazil have called up Juventus defenders Gleison Bremer and Danilo for their 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Chile and Peru, but left out struggling Douglas Luiz.
Coach Dorival named his list of 23 players who will travel for the matches against Chile on October 10 in Santiago de Chile and in Brasilia against Peru on October 15.
There are only two Serie A representatives in the squad, both of them Juventus defenders Danilo and Bremer.
This in itself has some surprises, as Danilo has been largely excluded by new Bianconeri boss Thiago Motta so far this season.
The 33-year-old has made only two substitute appearances between Serie A and the Champions League for a total 38 minutes of football.
Another notable fact is the absence from the Brazil group of Douglas Luiz, who has struggled badly so far at Juventus since his €50m transfer from Aston Villa.
The 26-year-old played in five matches, but started only one and was desperately disappointing.
Atalanta midfielder Ederson is also left behind.
