Crystal Palace welcome Manchester United to Selhurst Park in an intriguing Premier League encounter at 8pm BST on Monday night, live on Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Premier League.

Palace have found some form under Oliver Glasner, while Erik ten Hag’s United face an uphill battle in their pursuit of the European places.

United at risk of missing out on Europe

Following Newcastle’s 5-1 hammering of Sheffield United last weekend, Manchester United will be feeling the heat in the race for the Premier League top six.

An 87th-minute penalty from Zeki Amdouni meant Manchester United had to share the spoils in a 1-1 draw with Burnley last Saturday and that means they have won just one of their last eight games in 90 minutes.

United currently occupy sixth spot, which leads to a place in the Europa Conference League play-off round, but they risk missing out on European altogether next season if they do not hold off the challenge of Newcastle and Chelsea.

And Crystal Palace can be a tough nut to crack with the Eagles having posted three wins and a draw from their last four matches under the steady stewardship of Glasner.

The Eagles are in no-man’s land in the Premier League with three games to go but have strung together some positive results ahead of next season.

This is arguably the most winnable of Manchester United’s remaining fixtures with Ten Hag’s side next up against Premier League title chasers Arsenal at Old Trafford before they host Newcastle in a crunch clash on home soil.

They will then finish their season on the road at Brighton.

While clinging onto sixth spot is proving difficult for United at the moment, they could yet forge a push for the top five if results go their way with Tottenham on the decline after three successive defeats against Newcastle, Arsenal and Chelsea.

Crystal Palace vs Man United team news

Crystal Palace could welcome back defender Marc Guehi, who has recovered from a knee injury after two months out.

Eberechi Eze could also be involved after shaking off a knee issue which meant he was not risked against Fulham last time out.

If Eze does feature, he is likely to dislodge Jordan Ayew in the starting lineup with Glasner expected to go with a 3-4-2-1 formation once again.

Manchester United, meanwhile, could be missing their captain Bruno Fernandes for the trip to Selhurst Park and Scott McTominay will be assessed. Mason Mount may come into the starting lineup.

Jonny Evans and Anthony Martial are also back in training for the Red Devils but Marcus Rashford remains out.

As was the case against Burnley, Casemiro could again slot into defence for United alongside Harry Maguire.
