Crystal Palace demanded €100 million from Bayern Munich for Oliver Glasner | OneFootball

As reported by Bild, Bayern Munich were keen on luring Oliver Glasner away from Crystal Palace, but the Premier League outfit demanded €100 million in compensation.

The past few months have been significantly difficult for Der Rekordmeister. Having lost out on the Bundesliga title to Bayer Leverkusen, they have also had to contend with elimination from the Champions League at the hands of Real Madrid.

However, what has frustrated those at the Säbener Straße more than anything is their hunt for a new head coach. Xabi Alonso, Julian Nagelsmann, and Ralf Rangnick—among a raft of other names—have all rejected a move to the Allianz Arena as successors to Thomas Tuchel.

Nonetheless, after Rangnick declined Bayern’s proposal, there was optimism that the record champions would still land a favourable target. It is understood that Uli Hoeneß, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, and Max Eberl all spoke to recently appointed Crystal Palace head coach Oliver Glasner.

With the initial discussions having gone down significantly well, all Bayern were left with was negotiating the Austrian out of his contract with the Premier League side. Regardless, while Bayern were prepared to part ways with €18 million, Palace demanded €100 million for Glasner’s signature.

While the former Eintracht Frankfurt head coach was hoping that the two clubs would find an agreement due to his ambition of winning the Champions League, he has now accepted the decision made by the Palace board. There is an expectation that Glasner will remain at Selhurst Park until 2026, when his contract expires.
