Confirmed Man United XI vs Liverpool: Matthijs de Ligt, Joshua Zirkzee and Alejandro Garnacho start | OneFootball

Matthijs de Ligt will start his first game as a Manchester United player today as the Red Devils take on arch rivals Liverpool at Old Trafford.

De Ligt replaces Harry Maguire at right centre back, with Lisandro Martinez his partner.

Andre Onana will be in goal.

Noussair Mazraoui and Diogo Dalot are the full backs.

Casemiro and Kobbie Mainoo are in central midfield, with Bruno Fernandes ahead of them.

Joshua Zirkzee also makes his first start in a United shirt, replacing the injured Mason Mount.

Alejandro Garnacho also starts his first match of the season after impressing off the bench in the previous three games. He does not replace Marcus Rashford though, who also starts the game.

Amad Diallo is the unlucky player to make way despite having just won the Player of the Month award for August.

The line-up suggests Rashford will start on the left, with Garnacho on the right and Zirkzee up front.

Ten Hag has named two keepers on the bench, Altay Bayindir and Tom Heaton.

Jonny Evans, Harry Maguire, Christian Eriksen, Toby Collyer, Antony, Amad and Ethan Wheatley are the other subs.

Kick-off at Old Trafford is at 4pm.
