According to updates from Sky Sport Italia and several other outlets in Italy, Bove will have an operation at the Careggi hospital in Florence on Tuesday to have the device fitted.
Having the defibrillator fitted is a necessary part of the protocol that will lead to Bove being discharged from hospital.
According to Monday’s reports, he is expected to be discharged somewhere between December 12 and December 14, i.e. by the end of the week.
As the device is removable, the 22-year-old will be able to decide independently, albeit in agreement with his doctors, if he wants to keep the defibrillator permanently, or remove it at a later date.

Bove collapsed off the ball in the 17th minute of Fiorentina’s Serie A match at home against Inter on December 1.
He was immediately rushed to hospital at the nearby Careggi facility in Florence. It was later confirmed that he had suffered a cardiac arrest.
The Italy U21 star was ‘awake and alert’ the following day, despite being admitted to intensive care. He has stayed in hospital since the incident took place just over a week ago.
