The AC Milan management are continuing with their approach of remaining close to the team, with Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Geoffrey Moncada present at Milanello today.
As Calciomercato.com write, Ibrahimovic spoke with Theo Hernandez, Mike Maignan and Tijjani Reijnders in the build-up to the derby in order to form a ‘pact’ and he was back at Milanello today alongside Moncada to watch training.
The message to the team from the directors is clear: they have their full support in view of a trio of important games to climb the Serie A and Champions League standings against Lecce, Bayer Leverkusen and Fiorentina.
Ibrahimovic’s presence at Milanello – which goes hand in hand with that of the eve of the derby – also represents a warning not to lower concentration. After a difficult start to the season, no further missteps are allowed otherwise the momentum from the victory over Inter will be gone.
The success in the derby has generated enthusiasm both for the specific value of the match itself but also for having caught Inter in the standings with a dominant display in which they fully deserved the three points.
Milan and Ibrahimovic want to be ambitious and not stop at just one win, even if it is significant . This is why Fonseca must get his team to show some consistency, especially after the pre-derby rumours about his possible sacking.
