CF: ‘Thinking about the money’ – Milan and Inter left unimpressed by Sala comment | OneFootball

AC Milan and Inter remain ‘cold’ on the idea of renovating San Siro but they certainly have not been positively swayed by the words of Beppe Sala.

As Calcio e Finanza report, the Mayor of Milan Giuseppe Sala made a brief comment yesterday about the current situation: “I know that the clubs are looking at the project and are thinking about the money.”

These were words that did not please the clubs very much, more specifically the idea that they are purely money-driven, and they continue to maintain a certain coldness on the subject of restructuring San Siro.

The reality is that only over the weekend was the documentation delivered to the two clubs by WeBuild, 10 days after the meeting at the Town Hall. The clubs are therefore only now starting to analyse the feasibility study.

Rather than evaluating the economic aspect they are trying to understand in detail the proposal of the construction firm in order to arrive at an overall evaluation of the plan.

In the meantime, however, the procedures for the alternative projects are continuing on both sides, namely that of San Donato for Milan and that of Rozzano for Inter.

In the meeting that took place in recent weeks, the heads of Inter and Milan had limited themselves to listening to WeBuild’s ideas, without however being able to go into the details of the study as they did not yet have the necessary documentation in hand.

As emerged from indiscretions reported by newspapers in the following days, the plan would include – among other elements – an increase in hospitality seats from the current 2,900 to around 13,000 (with the demolition of part of the first tier which will be rebuilt with a double row of sky boxes).

In addition to that, the closure of the third tier and consequent elimination of the scoreboard on the Via Piccolomini side to increase the capacity of the ‘popular’ seats is envisioned as well.

Furthermore, a 9,000 square metre structure would be planned which should contain the Milan and Inter museum, bar, restaurant and team offices in front of gates 8, 9 and 10.
