PSG midfielder Carlos Soler, who spent last season on loan at West Ham United, has not extended his stay in London, though the veteran remains on the radar of interested clubs.

Soler moved to West Ham last summer in search of consistent minutes and a fresh start, joining on deadline day despite interest from several teams.

By February, Claret and Hugh reported that West Ham were unlikely to activate the purchase option in his loan deal. While the transfer fee of just under €20 million wasn’t a major obstacle, Soler’s high wages ultimately made a permanent move out of reach.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reports that Carlos Soler to Real Sociedad is a done deal. PSG have accepted the final offer after previously reaching a verbal agreement.

The move is an initial loan with a buy option, with Real Sociedad set to cover most of his salary through 2026. The club views the deal as having strong potential to become permanent.

Romano’s report doesn’t give a potential price. Nonetheless,  Transfermarkt puts the 28-year-old’s transfer value at €18 million.

L’Équipe recently reported that Soler is edging closer to leaving PSG. Several Premier League clubs are keeping tabs on the midfielder, with Wolverhampton Wanderers and an unnamed team joining Brighton & Hove Albion, who have long shown interest in the Spain international.

Back in Spain, Villarreal are also expected to reignite their pursuit of Soler. Born in Valencia, the midfielder came through the ranks at local rivals Valencia CF before moving to PSG in 2022.
