It was a goal-fest at the Gtech as Brentford fought back from behind to edge Manchester United 4-3 and keep their hopes of European football alive.
Mason Mount put the visitors in front early, latching onto Alejandro Garnacho’s cross to bag his second goal for the Red Devils.
But the hosts responded with a touch of luck — Mikel Damsgaard’s cross deflected off Luke Shaw to make it 1-1 in the 27th minute
Things turned messy soon after as Thomas Frank's side took the lead - Kevin Schade nodded in Christian Norgaard’s cross while some United players switched off, thinking play would be stopped after Matthijs de Ligt went down injured.
In the second half, Schade made it 3-1 with another header, this time from Bryan Mbeumo’s delivery, before Yoane Wissa added a fourth with a clinical finish after Brentford sliced through United’s defence.
Garnacho gave Ruben Amorim's side a lifeline with a screamer from distance late on, and Amad Diallo made it 4-3 deep into stoppage time, but Brentford held firm.
The loss leaves United stuck in 15th, while the Bees jump to ninth, just a point behind Bournemouth.
