Teenage winger Estevao Willian has revealed he is ‘very anxious’ to join Chelsea this summer.

The 17-year-old Brazilian was snapped up by Chelsea last June for an initial fee of €34m, with performance-related add-ons potentially taking the total figure to around €67m.

Estevao, who turns 18 next month, will join Chelsea officially after competing with current club Palmeiras at the FIFA Club World Cup in the summer.

Speaking about his move to Stamford Bridge, the teenager told Brazilian media: “All the time, I’m very anxious to go.”

The exciting winger is using the current international break to speak to fellow countrymen, who are currently playing in the Premier League, to get some advice ahead of his big summer move.

“They come and talk to me, give me tips,” he said.

“Murillo [Nottingham Forest], Savinho [Manchester City]. I ask them how this is, how that is.

“These things are important for getting there to have less difficulty in adapting.”

Estevao has won four caps for Brazil having made his senior international debut back in September.

However, he did not feature in their World Cup qualifiers against Columbia last week and the 4-1 defeat to Argentina on Tuesday.

The teenager has been setting the Brazilian Serie A alight though, scoring five goals in 13 appearances for Palmeiras this season, adding to his 13 in the competition the previous year.

Upon signing for Chelsea, Estevao was heralded ‘the best Brazilian since Neymar’ and there is plenty of excitement around Stamford Bridge as the Blues await his arrival.

Andrey Santos, Deivid Washington, Angelo and 17-year-old Ecuadorian forward Kendry Paez, who will arrive in 2025 from Independiente del Valle, have all been signed in recent times.

Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca said previously that the club were keeping a close eye on Estevao’s development in Brazil.

“Yes, we are following him. He is doing fantastic – but, unfortunately, he is doing fantastic there and not with us,” he said.

“We are going to wait until next summer when he will arrive here but, for sure, we are very happy in the way he is doing these things.”
