Bayern Munich have joined Premier League clubs in the race to sign Dani Olmo from RB Leipzig this summer.

Olmo has a release clause of €60m (£51.1m) in his contract that will become active in the summer and the Spaniard has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League.

The midfielder has been touted as a top target for Liverpool as the club begin a new era under Arne Slot and the Reds have a strong working relationship with Leipzig, having agreed deals for Naby Keita, Ibrahima Konate and Dominik Szoboszlai in recent years, alongside the loan of Fabio Carvalho in the opposite direction.

Manchester City and Chelsea have also been credited with interest in Olmo, who can operate in multiple advanced roles and has scored eight goals in 33 appearances for Spain.

However, Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Bayern Munich and Barcelona are also involved in a competitive race to sign Olmo. Max Erbl, who was appointed Bayern’s sporting director in January, knows Olmo well from his time at Leipzig.

Olmo scored eight goals in 25 appearances for Leipzig in 2023-24 during an injury-hit campaign, and his haul included a hat-trick against Bayern Munich in German Super Cup in August. He has been named in the Spain squad to travel to Euro 2024 this summer.
