Barcelona star playing for his future with the club over season’s final weeks | OneFootball

A headline member of the attacking ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona will essentially be playing for his future in the club’s colours, over the closing weeks of the campaign.

The player in question? João Félix.

That’s according to Diario Sport, who point towards frontman Félix as having still not fully convinced the brass at Barcelona of his continuity for next season.

The Portuguese, of course, made the move to Catalunya’s capital last summer, as part of a season-long loan from La Liga rivals Atlético Madrid.

And though he has showcased unquestionable flashes of brilliance, the frequent inconsistencies which have plagued Félix throughout his career to date have remained.

In turn, as per the aforementioned Sport, ‘time is running out’ for the 24-year-old to send an on-pitch message to Deco and co, to move forward with extending his stay with the club beyond the summer.

All options remain open – for Félix to return on a paid loan, head back to Atlético, or be signed outright (FFP dependent).

The final weeks of the term, though, could well prove to be decisive when it comes to the final decision of the Barca board, meaning Félix will need to step up his game in training and match situations alike, to ensure that his Blaugrana dream does not come to an altogether premature end.
