A leading member of the defensive ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona is facing up to a potential incoming spell on the sidelines.
That’s according to Barca insider Toni Juanmartí of Diario Sport, who points towards Alejandro Balde as the player in question.
Left-back Balde for his part featured from the off this evening, as Hansi Flick’s Blaugrana made the trip to Madrid for a La Liga meeting with Leganés.
En route to a hard-fought 1-0 triumph for the visitors, though, the Spanish international was forced into a premature departure from proceedings.
Late in the first-half, Balde went to ground with what appeared to be a muscular concern, quickly hooked for Gerard Martín as a result.
And, post-match, an update on the situation has since been forthcoming.
As per the aforementioned Toni Juanmartí:
‘Concern in Alejandro Balde’s entourage, because he felt discomfort in his hamstring. Tomorrow he’ll undergo tests, but his team isn’t entirely sure, especially with the Cup final, since muscle-related issues, if there’s even a little bit of them, usually take at least two weeks.’
