Unless something drastic happens, FC Barcelona consider their squad for the 2025/26 season pretty much closed at this point.
The departures of out-of-favour players like Inaki Pena, Oriol Romeu, and Hector Fort are expected to be finalised soon, but other than that, there are no major moves – incoming or outgoing – expected to happen.
Despite that, Barcelona are being offered players who could fit the profile being sought, should there be room to make a signing.
As such, SPORT reports that Benjamin Pavard, a player previously linked with Barcelona and well known to Hansi Flick, has been offered to the club.
The Frenchman, who worked under Flick at Bayern Munich, is set to leave Inter Milan in the final days of the transfer window. His priority is to continue playing at the highest level in Europe, and is now being offered to Barça by his agent, Pini Zahavi.
Pavard fits the profile of a versatile central defender Barcelona are on the lookout for – capable of playing both at centre-back and right-back, and has extensive international experience.

Pavard is represented by Zahavi, who is also the agent of Robert Lewandowski and Flick. Only last week, the Israeli superagent met with Barcelona president Joan Laporta, with whom he shares a close personal relationship.
Inter Milan, for their part, are keen to offload Pavard because of his wages. The defender has been linked with Neom in Saudi Arabia, but he is said to have rejected the lucrative proposal to secure a move to a top European club with Champions League football.
While Pavard’s name has been put on the table, Barcelona have not made any move forward, as their priority in these final days of the transfer window is to register Wojciech Szczesny, Gerard Martin, Marc Bernal, and Roony Bardghji.
Beyond this, there is little margin left, even if the club manage to reach the 1:1 rule, something expected before the market closes. For now, the sporting management has ruled out further moves.
Flick, for his part, would not view the addition of another defender negatively, but a move for Pavard seems unlikely.
Instead, Deco has put forward the idea of signing a young centre-back with a reserve team registration, who could be integrated into the first team dynamics. The profile sought is more left-footed than right-footed, following Inigo Martinez’s move to Saudi Arabia.
