Aston Villa to submit bid to re-sign PSG’s Marco Asensio | OneFootball

Aston Villa are set to submit an offer to sign Marco Asensio (29) from Paris Saint-Germain on a permanent basis, according to a report from Sacha Tavolieri. The Birmingham club want to bring the Spanish international attacking midfielder back to Villa Park after he spent the second half of last season on loan from the Ligue 1 champions.

Asensio was highlighted as the Premier League club’s priority target by Monchi, the club’s sporting director. However, the club have been financially hamstrung, after failing to qualify for the UEFA Champions League. Villa have agreed to sell Jacob Ramsey to Newcastle United, and are now in a financial position to make their first offer for the 29-year-old.

PSG are set to command a fee in the region of €20m, including bonuses for the former Real Madrid playmaker.  is keen to return to Birmingham and has already reached an agreement on personal terms with Aston Villa. The Spaniard has agreed to a 3-year deal at Villa Park.
