Manchester United and England midfielder Grace Clinton has been linked with a move to Arsenal on social media, and fans of the Gunners are pleading with the club to sign the Euro 2025 winner.

Clinton scored nine goals in 28 appearances for Manchester United during the 2024-25 season.

She spent the previous season on loan at Arsenal’s bitter rivals Tottenham, where she won the PFA Women’s Young Player of the Year award.

Arsenal won the Champions League last season and hope to end Chelsea’s domination of the Women’s Super League in 2025-26.

The Gunners made Olivia Smith the first £1 million player in women’s football after signing the Canadian from Liverpool.

They also signed Taylor Hinds on a free from Liverpool, while Chloe Kelly’s loan from Manchester City turned permanent.

Betting sites have Kelly as the favourite to win the Sports Personality of the Year award, ahead of golfer Rory McIlroy.

Speculation has increased on social media in recent weeks that Arsenal could be interested in signing Grace Clinton.

The rumours have alerted Arsenal fans who have called on the club to make the move for the 22-year-old.

@JustMimi wrote: “Guys did I miss anything? Been seeing a lot of Grace Clinton to Arsenal.”

Fan account ‘Arsenal Women Fan’ added: “Grace Clinton to Arsenal is a YES for me. Let’s see what happens.”

@mccvbes commented: “Need to see Grace Clinton in an Arsenal jersey so bad.”

The rumours have been a cause of concern for some Manchester United fans.

@StefWarren04 said: “Hearing Grace Clinton is in talks with Arsenal. Man Utd men’s team in a state and now one of my favourite women’s players is potentially off to Arsenal.”

Lo’rent added: “Hey @matt01johnson and Marc Skinner, please extend Grace Clinton’s contract. We can’t afford to lose another cornerstone to Arsenal for free. And while you’re at it… bring in Signe Gauspet!’

However, there are Arsenal fans who doubt the move will happen.

@clintonrusso wrote: “My heart wants Grace Clinton to Arsenal, but my head knows it won’t happen.”

What has Clinton said about her Manchester United future?

Grace Clinton has not given any indication that she is prepared to leave Manchester United.

The England star has been contracted with Manchester United since joining from Everton in 2022.

There had been some doubt over her future in the summer of 2024.

At the time she said: “People probably think I’m lying when I say that I don’t actually know [what the future holds].

“My contract does end [next summer], but I’m really looking forward to this year. I’ve not given any thought at all beyond that. I want to see how my year goes, then we’ll see what happens.”

Clinton did though go on to sign a contract extension in January which lasts until the end of the 2025-26 season.

She said: “I’m a very competitive person. [At] Manchester United, we’re expected to win. We want to be challenging for all of the titles, and to try and get Champions League football, that’s a big aim for us.”
