Ilay Camara will be sidelined for Anderlecht’s upcoming matches. The Senegalese full-back picked up an injury on August 7, 2025, during the match against Sheriff Tiraspol in Brussels. He’ll be forced to stay off the pitch for several weeks.
Ilay Camara joined Anderlecht’s first team squad this summer, aiming to establish himself on the right flank. Lined up for the Conference League qualifier, the young defender had to leave the pitch in the first half after a muscular warning sign. Tests carried out in the following days confirmed a hamstring injury. The club has announced that he will not be available before mid-September.
“Further medical examinations have revealed a hamstring injury. He is expected to be out for several weeks,” RSC Anderlecht said in an official statement.
This absence is a major blow for RSCA, who are currently battling on both the domestic and European fronts. Camara had been integrated into Brian Riemer’s defensive rotation thanks to his ability to cover both flanks. Since the start of the season, the 22-year-old has played in a European fixture and a Pro League match. He has delivered an assist in both of his appearances for the Mauves.
