Ismaël Baouf will not be playing in Belgium next season. The Morocco U20 international has signed with Cambuur, a club competing in the Dutch second division.
The player, who also holds a Belgian passport, has inked a three-year contract with an optional extra year. He will compete in the Eerste Divisie during the 2025-2026 season.
Cambuur's technical director, Lars Lambooij, expressed his delight over the signing in a statement to the club’s official website: “Ismaël has solid experience, thanks to his 50 matches with Anderlecht (in the Challenger Pro League), which is significant in terms of potential and physical readiness.”
Ismaël Baouf is expected to be part of Mohamed Ouhabi’s squad for the U20 World Cup, which will take place from September 27 to October 19 in Chile, after shining with the Lion Cubs in the most recent U20 AFCON.
