Alavés identify priority left-back target | OneFootball

The board at La Liga outfit Deportivo Alavés have identified their first-choice target to reinforce the club’s left-back ranks this summer.

That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, citing El Correo, who point towards Jonny Otto as the player in question.

It has long been common knowledge that Alavés are on the lookout for a new left-back with a view to next season.

This comes after Manu Sánchez returned to parent club Celta Vigo following a successful loan spell at Mendizorroza.

And if the latest word stemming from the Spanish media this week is anything to go by, then the Babazorros have set their sights on one target above all others.

Ahead of the expiration of his contract terms with Greek side PAOK at the end of the month, Alavés have earmarked Jonny Otto as the ideal addition.

Capable of lining out at either left or right-back, the 31-year-old boasts ample experience of Spanish football, having lined out for Celta Vigo for six seasons.

And according to MD, citing information from El Correo:

‘The Babazorro club have already launched their first offensive to secure the services of the current PAOK player.’
