Alassane Pléa has officially signed a three-year contract with PSV after completing a three-million-euro move from Borussia Mönchengladbach.
Speaking on his new club’s website, the 32-year-old Frenchman addressed the new challenge at hand in the Netherlands. “I’m looking forward to seeing my teammates, and I understand we’ll be having a barbecue together soon. A good start.”
As soon as the move materialised, Pléa didn’t hesitate to sign. “When my agent called me and told me about PSV’s interest, I immediately said yes. I’ve only heard good things about the club, and I’m also familiar with the manager: Mr. Bosz. I love his philosophy and style of play.”
Pléa is PSV’s sixth summer signing, following Nick Olij, Yarek Gasiorowski, Ruben van Bommel, Matej Kovar, and Kiliann Sildillia.
Pléa is fortunate to have Ricardo Pepi’s number switched, as it allows him to play in his beloved 14 shirt. “I’ve been playing with that number for a long time. It came about because I was a big fan of Thierry Henry.” Earlier this month, Pepi took over the number nine shirt from the departed Luuk de Jong.
