Zinedine Zidane 'close to joining Juventus'

Zinedine Zidane is reportedly close to joining Juventus as a consultant for the current Director of Football.

Zidane said during his last press conference with Real Madrid that he would not be coaching this season and it seems that he will keep his promise.

According to Libertad Digital – who boast sources close to the Spanish club – a move will be made official in October after encouraging talks took place.

The report claims that despite Zidane’s affiliation for Real Madrid, Juventus are the club he holds closest to his heart after spending five successful seasons there.

That way, he would not have as much responsibility while Juventus keep current coach Massimiliano Allegri, who has also done a brilliant job since he took over.

Former players already have a strong influence in Turin with Pavel Nedved and Del Piero holding significant influence at board level.
