Zineddine Belaïd in a new experience in Algeria: What are the details?
Specialized press reports revealed that Algerian defender Zineddine Belaïd has officially signed a two-year contract with JS Kabylie. The player is currently a free agent after leaving Belgian club Saint-Trond when his contract officially expired. The 26-year-old is expected to sign his new contract in Algeria soon.
Trained at NA Hussein Dey, Belaïd rose to prominence as one of Algeria’s finest defenders during his time with USM Alger, where he played a pivotal role in their CAF Confederation Cup triumph. Known for his composure, tactical intelligence, and leadership, he earned a move to Europe, joining the Belgian top flight. However, despite flashes of brilliance, his stint abroad didn’t quite meet expectations.
Now, seeking the right environment to reignite his career, Belaïd has chosen a return home—signing with JS Kabylie, a club with bold ambitions to reclaim its place among Algeria’s elite. His vast experience and defensive mastery make him a cornerstone in JSK’s rebuilding project.
The Algerian center-back also attracted interest from Qatar’s Al-Wakrah and Egypt’s Zamalek in recent months. But by securing his signature, Kabylie has made one of the most impactful moves of the summer transfer window, sending a clear message to their rivals.
