FC Barcelona were unable to get to the UEFA Champions League final and were eliminated in the semi-final by Inter Milan after an intense tie that ended with an aggregate score of 7-6 in the Italian side’s favor.
Although his performances were unable to take his team to the final, Lamine Yamal still impressed everyone in this semi-final tie and has been receiving praise from different quarters since that defeat.
The latest individual to speak highly of the youngster has been none other than one of his direct opponents from that game, Alessandro Bastoni, the Inter Milan centre-back who played the full game against Barcelona.
As Mundo Deportivo has reported, the Italian defender took to social media to express his happiness on reaching the UCL final and also mentioned Lamine Yamal and the Blaugrana team in his message, which went as:
“Only now am I starting to realize the incredible feat we achieved on Tuesday. The effort we put in on the pitch was enormous, and it was rewarded — especially by the unforgettable energy of our fans. I’m grateful to each of my teammates: their spirit, hunger, and heart. Fighting alongside them is what makes every sacrifice since childhood worth it.
Respect to our opponents: they showed incredible strength and heart. And a special mention to an incredibly talented kid: Lamine Yamal, you’re a monster. To all Inter fans, see you in Munich. Thank you for everything.”

Another gesture from the Italian defender showcasing his admiration for Lamine Yamal was his asking for the youngster’s shirt, which he wore while celebrating his team’s success on the pitch.
While Yamal’s game has been recognised throughout the world, Bastoni himself put in very good performances in both legs of the tie, and once again showed why he is considered to be one of the best defenders in the world.
