Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has sent a request the way of his playing squad, regarding their efforts in this weekend’s showdown with Real Madrid.
The season’s final Clásico is of course set to play out this coming Sunday.
In a crunch clash atop the La Liga table, Barcelona will act as hosts, welcoming Carlo Ancelotti’s Real to Catalunya’s capital with sights on a fourth victory over Los Blancos in 2024/25.
The Blaugrana head into the matchup aware that a victory would see them all but assured of the Spanish top-flight title.
Barca’s stars, though, are suffering from ‘high levels of fatigue’ both physically and mentally, just two days out from the matchup.
That’s according to Diario Sport, who have on Friday provided an insight into the latest ongoings in Hansi Flick’s squad.
A whole host of players, it is understood, are still feeling the after effects of Tuesday’s devastating Champions League elimination at the hands of Inter Milan.
Boss Flick, in turn, has been forced to send something of a rallying cry to his squad.
As per Sport:
‘Aware that batteries are starting to run low, Hansi has asked his charges for one last effort. A final exercise in solidarity and dedication. A last one, yes. Because the League will be ‘won’ in the event of a victory in the classic.’
